A Living Legacy

The Christina Smith Beal Scholarship Fund was established to honor the life, legacy, and lasting impact of Christina Smith Beal, who was taken far too soon at the age of 39 after a courageous battle with cancer.

​

Christina was a devoted wife to her husband of 12 years, Brian Beal, and a loving mother to Tyler, Layla, and Mason. She was a cherished daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives.

​

A graduate of St. Vincent Pallotti High School, Christina excelled both academically and athletically. As a standout softball player, she earned numerous honors, including All IAAM First team (4 times),  All-County First Team (4 times), All-Metropolitan area team, and Player of the Year in the local journal, and was later inducted into Pallotti’s Hall of Fame.

 

While athletics were an important part of her life, Christina also had a great passion for education. Christina earned her degree in Elementary and Special Education and dedicated her career to teaching at St. Matthias Catholic School, Prince George’s County Public Schools, and Anne Arundel County Public Schools. She believed deeply in the potential of every child and worked tirelessly to support, encourage, and uplift her students.

Beyond the classroom, Christina loved spending time with her family, cheering on her children at sporting events, supporting her favorite Washington sports teams, and enjoying days at the beach—especially when they included steamed crabs. Most of all, she was known for her unwavering generosity, compassion, and commitment to giving back to her community.

This scholarship was created to carry forward Christina’s light by supporting students who reflect the values she lived by—kindness, perseverance, strong work ethic, and a genuine care for others. Through education, we strive to ensure that Christina’s legacy continues to inspire and uplift future generations.
